Cuttack: A special team of Odisha Vigilance arrested the Ex-nazir of Jajpur tehsil on Thursday from CDA area in Cuttack of Odisha. He was absconding since 2016.
The arrested Ex-nazir has been identified as Rajat Kumar Routray. He was the kingpin of the misappropriation of government funds case. Reportedly, Routray had misappropriated government funds to the tune of Rs. 4.95 crores in 2016. And thereafter was absconding.
The officials of the Vigilance Department arrested Rajat on Thursday from his residence in Cuttack. He absconded from Jajpur in 2016 and moved to Cuttack. Reportedly he was residing in CDA area of Cuttack with his second wife. Rajat was repeatedly changing his identity to make his escape. He had also cut off all relationships with his family members and relatives.
It was difficult to nab the culprit as he was repeatedly changing his place and mobile phone number, informed Odisha Vigilance.
