Minors drown in Mahanadi: Third body fished out

Cuttack: In today’s development regarding minor boys drowning in the Mahanadi river near Jobra in Cuttack, the third body of the minor has been fished out this morning.

He has been identified as Siddique Majid.

Reportedly, the minor’s body was found behind the Gurdwara at Shikharpur in Cuttack. His body has been sent for autopsy procedure to S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.

Earlier on Monday, the second body among the three minors, identified as Ayur Khan, was recovered from the Mahanadi river.

Prior to that on Ram Navami, seven friends went to Mahanadi river to take a bath where three minor boys drowned in the deep water. One of them, Mohammad Sahil, was rescued by the locals in a critical condition on the same day and rushed him to S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital. However, he died while undergoing treatment.

Later, the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Odisha fire personnel reached the spot to start a rescue operation and recovered the bodies of other minors.
