Bhadrak: In yet another shameful incident, a Class 8 girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Paliabindha panchayat under Tihidi police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
Police have arrested the accused, identified as Niranjan Jena (26).
As per reports, the girl was returning home from the market on Thursday evening when the accused forcefully took her to a secluded area and outraged her modesty.
He fled the spot after committing the crime.
After the victim’s family lodged a complaint, Jena was booked under section 376(3) of IPC and section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
