Malkangiri: In a commendable effort, Kalimela Police last night arrested at least two accused who were involved in a minor girl abduction and rape case, within two hours of lodging of the complaint by the victim’s family.
As per the complaint, the accused duo identified as Sama Madkami and Budra Madkami of Kadelmetla village abducted the victim, a 15-year-old girl from Erbanpali village on Thursday night. Later they outraged her modesty by taking her to the nearby MPV 7 village forest and left there.
Family members of the girl rescued her from the forest on the same night and came to know about her ordeal.
While a village meeting was called by the victim’s family last afternoon on the issue, it concluded without any decision. The victim’s father lodged a complaint with Kalimela Police last night.
Acting upon the complaint on a priority basis a team of Kalimela Police led by IIC Ram Prasad Nag and Sub Inspector Rudra Madhav Muduli conducted raids at different places immediately and arrested the accused.
Locals in the district have applauded Kalimela Police for its prompt action.
