Sambalpur: With no respite in sight from growing sexual assault on minor girls in the state, a 15-year-old girl has been gang raped by group of men in Kuchinda area in the district.
The incident which took place on January 15 came to light only after the family of the victim mustered courage and lodged a formal complaint with police today.
As per the complaint, the minor girl had visited Makar Mela which was being held in Torei village under Mahulapali police limits on the day of the incident along with her 15-year-old brother and returning home, when the mishap took place.
At least four men intercepted the girl on the road and took her to a nearby forested area after threatening the brother. Later, they outraged the modesty of the girl one after the other before freeing the duo.
Police have arrested one person involved in the case and launched a manhunt to arrest the rest.
