Dhenkanal: A minor girl has drowned in a canal near Katasahi in Saruali panchayat under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.
The deceased minor has been identified as Radhi Munda (12), daughter of Tapan Munda.
Reportedly, Radhi went to take bath in the canal along with her friends when she was swept away by the heavy water flow.
The locals of the village went in search of her after her friends informed about the accident and rescued her from the canal.
Radhi was rushed to the Kamakhyanagar hospital for immediate medical treatment. However, the doctors pronounced her brought dead.
