Minor couple commits suicide over failed love in Koraput

Koraput: In a tragic end to a teenage love affair, a minor couple committed suicide by consuming poison after their families disapproved their relationship in Goudakankadaput village under Laxmipur block last night.

As per the report, the girl identified as a daily wager at forest department had eloped with his boyfriend who happens to be a Class VIII student around 15 days ago. However, the duo had returned to their respective homes a few days ago.

It is said that the families of the deceased duo were not accepting their relationship and reluctant to marry them off since their return.

Finding no other option the couple chose to take the extreme step and consumed poison to end their lives last night. Their bodies were found lying under a tree in the village this morning.

Kikiriguma Police rushed to the spot later today and sent the bodies for autopsy.

A pal of gloom has descended on the village post the suicide.
