Minor boy rapes minor girl in Odisha’s Cuttack district
Cuttack: Despite Odisha police’s all efforts to create awareness among the people and students, minor rape incidents continue to prevail in the state with fresh such case reported from the Athagarh of the district today.
A class IX student of Jenapada allegedly raped a minor girl of the same village while she was returning from her tuition yesterday. The rape survivor narrated her ordeal before her parents who then lodged an FIR with the local police against the rapist.
Speaking about the incident, Padarbind Tripathy, IIC of Athagarh Police station said, “Family members of the minor girl filed a case alleging that a Class IX boy abducted her after providing her a chocolate. He took the girl to the Gopinath Temple of the village and raped her. Based on the allegation, we investigated the matter and nabbed the accused. He was forwarded to the court after a medical case.”
Further investigation into the matter is underway, added Tripathy.
