Microfinance Company Employee Arrested For Staging Loot Drama

Sambalpur: An assistant manager working with a microfinance company was today arrested for allegedly misappropriating cash of Rs 5.52 lakh by staging a drama of loot.

The accused identified as Akash Allu on Monday has lodged a complaint with the Rengali police station alleging that two bike-borne miscreants looted the cash by throwing chilli powder on his face.

“Subsequently police made a spot verification and found the there was no escape route on the spot as claimed by the complainant. We later collected samples of chilli powder from his shirt and matched it with the chilli powder kept in his kitchen. Both the samples matched,” said a police official.

Later police interrogated Akash who confessed of hatching the fake loot plot. “He has concealed the money in the chamber near the footrest of his scooty. We have recovered the cash and have forwarded the accused to the court,” added the police official.
