Met predicts Nor’Wester rains in parts of Odisha

The regional Meteorological department on Wednesday forecasted rains in the Northern parts of the state today.

According to Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, director of regional Met office, some of the parts of the state like Angul, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar are likely to witness downpour today.

Sahu also said that the storm formed over the South Bay of Bengal is likely to take the form of a depression in the next 24 hours. Under the influence of this the Nor’Wester or Kaal Baishakhi is expected in parts of Coastal area of the state on April 14 and 15.

On the other hand, the heat wave continues to sweep across the state with the capital city sizzling at 40.4 degrees Celsius by 2 PM.
