Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in Odisha from December 7, under the impact of a law pressure over Bay of Bengal, which would possibly turn into a deep depression in 12 hours.
The Meteorological Department bulletin said rainfall is likely to occur at south Odisha from December 7, while north Odisha will experience rainfall on December 8.
However, heavy shower is predicted at many places in coastal Odisha on December 9 and 10. The rainfall will continue till December 13, the bulletin added.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), in a letter, asked all the District Collectors to advise farmers to shift their harvested paddy to a safe place and take necessary steps to avoid any damage of crops during the rain.
Meanwhile, fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off Odisha coast.
