Bhubaneswar: The regional Meteorological Department on Thursday afternoon issued thunderstorm & lightning alert for 11 districts in Odisha viz. Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Khordha, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada.
As per the warning, thunderstorm with gusty winds and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the aforementioned districts during the next 24 hours.
The weather forecast also informed that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershower is likely to occur at a few places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
