Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert for at least 5 districts of Odisha till 12 noon today.
As per the MeT Department bulletin issued this morning, districts like Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Kalahandi are likely to experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning along with light to moderate rainfall at one or two places between 9 am and 12 noon.
People in these districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes during the alerted period to avoid eventuality and told to take shelter in safe places.
