Mercury soars above 40 deg C at 11 places in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With no respite in sight from the blistering heat wave in Odisha, temperature soar above 40 degree Celsius mark in at least 11 places in the State today.

As per a report of the MeT department, Talcher ruled at the top of the list by becoming the hottest place in the State with 44.6 degree Celsius. It was followed by Sambalpur,  Titlagarh and Malkangiri with 44 degree Celsius each.

Similarly, Bolangir recorded 43.8 degree Celsius followed by Sonepur (43.6), Hirakud (43.1), Jharsuguda (43), Bhawanipata (42.6), Angul (41.1), Sundergarh (41), Bhubaneswar (39.2) and Cuttack (38.8) degree Celsius respectively.

Balasore remained the coolest place in the State today with a maximum temperature of 20.1 degree Celsius.
