Mercury rises to and above 42 degree Celsius in 3 places of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to remain under the grip of intense heat with the mercury rising to and above 42 degree Celsius in 3 places of the State.

According to the regional centre of the India Meteorological Centre, Balangir was the hottest place in the State with a temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius. It was followed by Titlagarh and Boudh where the mercury was recorded at 42.5 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius respectively.

Apart from this, as many as five places witnessed temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. They are Jharsuguda (40.8), Sambalpur (40.1), Sundergarh (40.5), Bhawanipatna (40.6) and Sonepur (40.6).

Likewise, the residents of the State capital City (Bhubaneswar) sizzled at 24.4 degrees Celsius while the people of Cuttack witnessed a temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius.
