Balangir: A mentally sick man committed suicide by hanging from a tree in Bandhanpali village under Kantabanji police limits in the district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Giri Majhi of the same village.
Giri, who was suffering from a mental ailment for last 10 years, went missing from his house last night and his family members failed to trace him despite a frantic search. He was found dead in a nearby forest by some locals this morning and was seen hanging from a tree by a rope.
Police have seized the body for autopsy and registered a case in the incident.
