Khurda: An MBA degree holder and four others have been arrested for stealing water pipes of Rural Water Supply & Sanitation department in Tangi of Khurda district.
The MBA degree holder, who is the mastermind of the crime, has been identified as Satyakam Chitananda Mohanty of the Jagatpur area in Cuttack. He is working as the Odisha head of Kolkata-based Rashmi Metaliks Limited.
The other accused have been identified as Sushant Kumar Moharana of Kanthapur in Puri district, Biren Kumar Mohanty of Hasinpur in Puri district, Srinibash Moharana and Suryakant Moharana of Jaliapada village in Puri district.
The Tangi Police arrested the five accused persons from Bamadeipur village in Puri district and recovered 40 water pipes, one four-wheeler, 10 sealed envelopes, 5 mobile phones, a laptop and one pen drive from their possessions.
It is to be noted here that the accused persons had stolen the water pipes from Tangi College Playground two days ago. Earlier, 8 persons were arrested for their involvement in the case.
