Bhubaneswar: It is a matter of pride for the people of entire Odisha that, Kandhamal MP and Founder of KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) & KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences), Achyuta Samanta has been nominated to the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) as a member of Board of Administration (BOA).
The Working Committee of CAVA which met today virtually nominated Achyuta Samanta to be a member of CAVA for his stellar work in the field of sports.
Members of the Volleyball Association from 14 countries took part in the meeting and Samanta, the President of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) also present during the meeting.
As the President of Volleyball Association of India, Samanta requested CAVA to allot Asian Central Women’s Volleyball Championship 2022 to India and CAVA gave its green signal to his request.
Expressing his happiness over his nomination to CAVA membership, Samanta said, “I will try to organize the Championship in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and will discuss with the Govt of Odisha and CM Naveen Patnaik in this regard.”
The teams which are slated to participate in the Championship are Iran, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, to be qualified from the Challenge Cup of CAVA to be held between December 26 and December 28 in Dhaka of Bangladesh.
