Mahanga: Tension ran high in Kendupatna Khandagaon village under Salipur police limits in Cuttack district last night after a married woman committed suicide with her paramour after being caught red-handed with the later in objectionable position.
The deceased have been identified as Tulasi Behera (27) and Bhanja Kishore Patra (26).
As per the report, Tulasi who was married to Khirod Behera of the same village for past few years was having an illicit affair with the latter’s younger brother Bhanja for quite some time. However, villagers caught the couple in compromising position last night at Tulasi’s bedroom and locked it up from outside.
The bodies of the lovebirds were found hanging to the ceiling of the room latter in the night. It is suspected that the couple committed suicide due to humiliation.
Salipur Police reached the spot and started investigation with the help of scientific team this morning.
Police are awaiting the autopsy report of the deceased duo to decide their next course of action.
