Cuttack: In a shameful incident, a four-year-old girl has been raped by a married man in Sahaniajpur under Mahanga police limits in Cuttack district.
The incident which took place in the night on Wednesday came to fore yesterday after the family of the victim lodged an FIR at Mahanga police Station.
“We had visited the house of my brother-in-law (husband’s younger brother) in the evening on Wednesday to attend his reception. While the party was underway, my child went missing between 10.30 pm and 11.00 pm. She was later found and complaint of pain in her private part. After check-up by a doctor it was found that she had been raped,” informed the victim’s mother.
After the victim girl narrated the whole incident to her family they swung into action lodged the police complaint.
Acting upon the complaint a police team from Mahanga led by IIC Madhusmita Behera arrested the accused identified as Jeetendra Sahu of the same village from his house later yesterday.
An investigation is underway in the incident.
