Marriage Ceremony Raided In Odisha For Violating Covid Guidelines

Jharsuguda: A wedding reception was stopped midway in Odisha for violating the Covid-19 guidelines set to check the spread of coronavirus.

The marriage ceremony was being held at Jharsuguda district under the Sadar police limits in Etabhati area.

It is noteworthy that in order to contain the spread of Covid the Odisha government has restricted social gatherings.

It has specified that a total of 50 people can be invited to a marriage ceremony including the bride and groom.

According to reports, the authorities were informed about the feast by locals. The officials reached the spot and stopped the event.

They collected a fine of Rs. 10,000 from the father of the bride, the host of the ceremony.

Odisha on Friday reported its highest single-day spike of 6215 COVID-19 cases, taking the tally in the state to 3,94,694 while eight more deaths pushed the toll to 1973.
