Bhubaneswar: Maoists posters have been found at various places in Odisha on Monday urging public to extend their support to today’s 24-hour bandh in Odisha and eastern Chhattisgarh, called by the Communist Party of India (Maoists) of Odisha against government’s apathy.
The Mainpur division of Maoists put up posters at the under-construction chariot of Lord Jagannath in Raighar town of Nabarangpur district, while other posters were found in Baliguda area in Kandhmal district and various places in Nuapada district in this connection.
The leftist-extremists also made a road blockade on the Baliguda-Daringbadi road near Pottangi by felling trees. Vehicular movement was badly affected in this region.
In the posters and banners written in Hindi script, the Maoists alleged that both the Centre and State Governments do not want the development of SC, ST and poor people; instead, they will displace the people in the name of development.
The ultras also released an audio tape against the on-going green hunt combing operation.
