Malkangiri: Maoists gunned down a postmaster at Kamalapadar village under Chitrakonda police station limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Polasi. He was posted at Papuluru sub-post office in the distrcrict.
“Around 10 to 15 armed Maoists had come to the village at around 11 PM last night and dragged Polasi out from his residence. Later, they killed the postmaster marking him as a police informer”, a villager said with anonymity.
The leftist extremists in the name of CPI (Maoist) also left a poster at the site claiming responsibility for the killing and threating people not to work for police and failing which they would meet the same concequence.
Meanwhile, Police have launched a massive search and combing operation in the area to nab the ultras.
