Balangir: A man was killed by a group of Maoists at Khuripani village in Khaprakhol area of Balangir district last night over suspicion of being a police informer.
The deceased has been identified as Trilochan Taria.
According to reports, over 20 armed Maoists barged into the village late last night and shot the man in the middle of the street.
The Red rebels also left posters and leaflets at the crime spot, in which it was stated that Taria was killed because he betrayed them by acting as a Police informer for over 23 years.
Meanwhile, the Police have seized the posters and launched an investigation into the matter.
The Central Forces have also expedited combing operation in the area to nab the red rebels.
