Maoists attack construction camp, torch 6 vehicles in Kandhamal

Phulbani: Unleashing Red fear again in Kandhamal district, suspected members of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group attacked a construction camp in Jhiripani area and torched at least six vehicles protesting a bridge work last night.

As per the report, a group of around 20 heavily armed Maoists attacked the camp located beside Belghar-Jhiripani Road late in the night. After threatening the workers at the camp the Red rebels started torching construction vehicles kept there one after the other.

Those vehicles which were reduced to ashes at the camp include 1 Hitachi, 2 JCB, 2 tractors and a mixture.

Before leaving the spot warned the workers with dire consequences if a bridge construction work which is underway in the area is not stopped immediately.

Baliguda Police has rushed to the spot after getting intimation on the incident this morning.
