Maoist camp busted in Nuapada

Nuapada: The Special Operation Group (SOG) Jawans busted a Maoist camp in the Patdhara Reserve Forest area under Boden police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday morning.

Acting on specific intelligence about the movement of Maoist cadres in Patdhara Reserve Forest area in the district, Nuapada SP has launched a massive combing operation since February 1.

Sources said, there was a heavy exchange of fire between the security personnel and the Maoists this morning. However, the ultras managed to flee from the spot and went into the deep forest.

The security personnel recovered explosives including five tiffin bombs, three UPS batteries, 2 kg gun powder, electrical wires etc. as well as several daily use equipment of Maoists.

The combing operation was going on in the area till the news was filed.
