Paralakhemundi: Headless body of an elderly man was found near Merama village under Mohana police limits in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Dasu Mallick (65) of the village. Local spotted the body near the forest road of the village this morning.
On being informed, Mohana police reached the spot and recovered the body. “The body has been sent to hospital for autopsy test and investigation has begun into the matter,” police said.
Though the circumstances under which the man died is yet to be ascertained, family members alleged that Dasu was killed to perform black magic.
