Manjulata Kanhar elected as Deputy Mayor of Bhubaneswar

Cuttack: The candidate of the ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Manjulata Kanhar has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Saturday.

Reportedly, Manjulata was elected uncontested as she was the lone candidate.

She was the Corporator from Ward no. 22, added reports.

Kanhar thanked BJD president Naveen Patnaik for putting his trust in her. She ensured that she will address all the issues of the city and its denizens.

Earlier this morning, the newly elected representative of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Sulochana Das has taken oath as Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (CMC) Mayor.

She was sworn in as the first woman Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). She was administered the oath by the Director of Municipal Administration, Sangramjit Nayak.

It is to be noted that the candidate of the ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Damayanti Majhi has been elected as the youngest Deputy Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on April 7.

Similarly, the candidate of the ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) E Vivek Reddy was elected for same post in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) on April 8.
