Manas Swain murder case: Crime Branch allowed to take 2 accused persons on 3 day remand

Bhadrak: In the latest development into the sensational murder of cameraman Manas Swain, the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Chandbali has reportedly allowed the Odisha Crime Branch to take two accused persons on another 3-day-remand period.

The Crime Branch has been permitted to take the accused persons Sarmishtha Rout and Jhuna Bhoi on a three-day remand period.

The investigating agency had requested the court seeking its permission to take these accused persons on a five-day remand for further interrogation into the murder case. However, the court allowed it to take them only on a 3-day remand.

The Court has directed the Crime Branch to produce the accused persons before it at 1 PM on April 7.

Meanwhile, two other accused persons Ranjan Nayak and Niranjan Sethi have been sent to jail following the conclusion of their remand period today.
