Khordha: In a shocking incident, a husband-wife duo sustained critical burn injuries in an explosion of cooking gas cylinder in Haripur village under Tangi police limits in Khordha district last night.
The deceased couple has been identified as Gandu Pradhan and his wife Geeta Pradhan.
The mishap took place last night while Geeta was asleep along with his husband and a leakage in LPG cylinder at kitchen caught fire. While the blaze spread very fast and gripped Geeta, Gandu tried to save her and got engulfed in the flames subsequently.
Some locals rescued the victim duo later and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. They were later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for better treatment.
