Balasore: A man has been beaten to death in Baghamara village under Nilagiri police limits in Balasore district today.
The deceased has been identified as Babu Ram Singh.
As per the report, one Budhu Singh of the village had brought a sum of Rs 5,000 from Babu’s mother who was cooling her heels behind the bars in Balasore Jail a few days back. But subsequently, Budhu swindled away the money over which a dispute had occurred between him and Babu Singh.
Last night, a verbal duel erupted between the duo over the issue post which Budhu thrashed the victim severely and dumped in an isolated place in the village. Some villagers rescued the victim in critical condition and sent to his home. He passed away late in the nigh.
Nilagiri Police have lodged a case in connection with the incident and started an investigation.
