Keonjhar: A man was thrashed to death by his younger brother over a family feud in Galaphula village under Patana police limits in the district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified Nilambar Kamar, an ironsmith by profession.
As per the report, a heated exchange of words took place between Nilambar and his younger brother Narahari Kamar over certain issues pertaining to a workshop they were operating at the house. As the argument escalated further, Narahari took out a iron tool used in beating hot iron and hit his brother’s head repeatedly in a fit of rage.
Nialambar was rushed to Patana CHC in critical condition by his family and died under treatment.
“The victim’s family tried to settle the matter initially and took the body of the deceased back to his home. However, they lodged a case with police at a later stage following a consultation with the villagers”, said Patana Police Station IIC Pramodini Sahu.
A Case under Section 302 of IPC has been slapped against the accused and he has been forwarded to court.
