Man thrashed to death by elder brother over land dispute

Sambalpur: Tension prevailed in Kurmipali village under Mahulipali police limits in the district today after a man thrashed his younger brother to death over a land dispute.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Bag.

As per the report, a heated argument erupted between Pradeep and his elder brother Sadar Bag this morning over sharing of a homestead land. As the argument escalated further Sadar took out a wooden plank in a fit of rage and started hitting the victim mercilessly killing him on the spot.

Pradeep’s wife also sustained critical injury in the attack in a bid to save her husband.

Getting information on the incident, Mahulipali Police rushed to the spot immediately and took the accused into custody for interrogation.

Deceased has been sent for autopsy and further investigation is underway in the case.
