Puri: Unidentified miscreants stoned a man to death in Chudanga Sahi under Puri Town Police Station area last night.
The deceased has been identified as Umashankar Acharya (50) of the same locality.
Some locals spotted Acharya lying in a pool of blood near Khuntia Bagicha area near Chudanga Sahi this morning and called up police.
After arriving at the spot and conduction the preliminary investigation later in the morning, Town Police found the head of the deceased crushed brutally with a stone.
While the body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy, police have detained the elder brother of the deceased on suspicion of his involvement in the murder.
A long running dispute between the deceased and his brother is being suspected behind the heinous crime.
