Pipili: Unidentified miscreants have stoned a man to death in Rengal village under Pipili in Puri district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Kashinath Mohapatra, a resident of the same village.
As per the report, Kashinath who had been to an unknown place in some work last night didn’t return home till late. Post a frantic search his family members found him dead with head crushed with a stone inside Rengal panchayat office premise later and called up police.
Police have seized the body for autopsy and started an investigation into the death.
While from the circumstantial evidence it is suspected that the deceased might have been killed over past enmity the same is yet to be established.
