Man stabbed to death in front of father in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A 40-year- old man, who was attacked by miscreants at Talashi village under Astaranga police limits in Odisha’s Puri district , died on the way to hospital late last night.

The deceased has been Dillip Swain, son of Sadhu Swain.  Swain family stays in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Dillip and his family members went to Talashi village to attend a 10th day ceremony  of his relative.  After the rituals, a meeting was held at the village to resolve a past enmity.

The assailants stabbed Dillip repeatedly after an alteration was erupted in the meeting. Dillip’s father and two other person were also attacked by the assailants.

The miscreants , who came in a four wheeler, managed to flee from the spot leaving their vehicle in the village.

Dillip succumbed to his injuries on the way to Bhubaneswar. His father and other injured have been admitted into a private hospital in the State capital.

Astaranga police reached the spot and began investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, locals staged road blockade  demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
