Rourkela: In yet another rain-related mishap in the state, a man along with his son was electrocuted to death at their house in Vedavyas area under Brahmani Tarang police limits in Sambalpur district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Satyanarayan Saha and Sanjay Saha.
The mishap took place in the wee hours between 2 AM to 3 AM when all were asleep in Saha family. As the rain water which had ingressed into the house due to heavy rain got electrified after coming in contact with livewire, Satyanarayan died with electric shock on the spot.
Sanjay who tried to save his father finding him in trouble also died of electrocution later.
Police reached the spot and seized the bodies for autopsy at Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) after disconnecting power supply to the victims’ house.
Locals have demanded suitable compensation from the administration for the wife and a three-year-old child of Satyanarayan.
