Bhubaneswar: A man was shot dead by two unidentified bike-borne assailants at Netal Chakk near Godi Sahi under Barang police limits on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Ranjan Sahoo. He worked as a Hostel supervisor at the Sri Sri University campus on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar city.
As per reports, the miscreants fled the spot after firing three rounds of bullets. Sahoo, who sustained injuries on chest, stomach and neck, was rescued by locals and rushed to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack. However, he succumbed to injuries.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained though past enmity is being touted as a potential cause. Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has started the investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
