Sambalpur: A man sustained bullet injury and was rushed to a hospital in Railway Colony under Khetrajpur police limits after he was shot at by a miscreant following a verbal duel on Sunday.
The injured has been identified as Ganesh Jagdala, a resident of the same colony.
As per the family of the victim, the attack took place at around 8 AM in the morning soon after Ganesh reached home after making some purchases from a nearby market. The miscreant identified as Mantu Suna also arrived at his home immediately and started using foul languages. Later he took out a pistol and opened fire at the victim.
Ganesh who was struck with a bullet on his left thigh was rushed to Sambalpur DHH where his condition is stated to be out of danger.
“Wanted criminal Mantu Suna is involved in the incident and the attack was carried out after the victim indulged in a heated argument with him over some issue earlier in the morning. We are trying to trace the accused as he was absconding,” said Jogesh Panda, IIC, Khetrajpur Police Station.
