Man Severs Leg Of Son In Law For Marrying His Daughter In Odisha

Boudh: A man allegedly severed his son-in-law’s leg with an axe at Dunguriguda village under Kantamala police limits on Tuesday evening.

Police said that the accused identified as Sashi Mahalika attacked his son-in-law Sourabh Dandia with an axe when Dandia had been to pick up his wife from the house of Mahalika.

“Dandia was having an affair with Sashi’s daughter for the past two years and married her two months ago after eloping from the house. Sashi was not in favour of the marriage and was furious at the couple for marrying against his wishes,’ said a police official.

Dandia was rushed to the nearest Subarnapur hospital from where he was later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla.  His condition is stated to be critical.

Police said that they have registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by the father of the victim are trying to nab the accused who has absconded.
