Mayurbhanj: In a tragic incident, a man has allegedly mercilessly beaten up his wife to death in Handibhanga village under Morada police limits in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Budulu Katuala, she is the wife of the alleged accused identified as Mangalu Katuala.
According to reports, the couple had a heated argument. After the quarrel Mangalu drank a lot of alcohol and beat up his wife to death in a fit of rage with a thick wooden stick.
After beating Budulu to death, Mangalu dug up a hole infront of his house to bury her body. On learning about the incident the locals immediately informed the Morada police.
On getting the information, the police arrived at the spot, recovered the body and arrested Mangalu.
The Morada tehsildar and Morada police arrived on the spot today in the morning along with the scientific team to initiate a probe. The cops have seized the wooden stick and an iron rod from the spot.
