Sundergarh: A man allegedly committed suicide after killing his wife at his house in Andhari village under Birmitrapur police limits in the district on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the deceased man has been identified as Prakash Kanudalana (42) who hanged himself after hacking his wife Priya (37) with a sharp weapon following a heated argument.
The neighbours said, the deceased couple attended an engagement ceremony in the village yesterday. After returning home, a dispute ensued between the two over a reason not known.
Noticing the doors of the house closed from inside for a long duration this morning, some neighbours got suspicious and informed Birmitrapur police.
The police broke open the door and found Priya’s body in a pool of blood, while Prakash’s body was found hanging from ceiling. They sent both the bodies for post-mortem.
A case has been registered at Birmitrapur police station in this connection.
