Man kills elder brother in Odisha’s Sambalpur district

Sambalpur: In a tragic incident a man allegedly killed his elder brother with the help of a lathi in Sambalpur district of Odisha on Sunday. The incident took place in Kalopada village under Jamankira Police limits.

The accused has been identified as Arun Kalo and the deceased, his elder brother has been identified as Laxman Kalo.

As per reports, the two brothers of Kalopada under phashimal panchayat got engaged in verbal spot at about 2 pm on Saturday. The verbal spat soon took an ugly turn when Arun took out a lathi and hit his elder brother with it. Resultantly, Laxman went unconscious.

The reason of the crime is said to be land dispute while the real reason is yet to be ascertained.

It has also been alleged that after the incident the victim was not taken to the hospital immediately for which later he succumbed to the injury.

After getting information Jamankira Police reached the spot and started investigation. The scientific team is investigating on the spot for evidences. Today at about 4 pm Police seized the body and sent it for autopsy to Kuchinda. Arun will be forwarded to Court on Monday, said Police.
