Rourkela: In a heart wrenching incident in the Steel City Rourkela today, a man killed his 5-year-old son by slitting throat by allegedly suspecting his wife’ character.
The deceased has been identified as Anugraha Oram.
The murder came to light at around 6.30 AM this morning after the deceased’s mother Sunkha spotted his body lying in a pool of blood on the bed, soon after coming out of the bathroom. Later, she raised an alarm and gathered the neighbours.
Police rushed to the spot immediately after getting intimation and seized the body for autopsy after conducting preliminary investigation.
Later, the accused father identified as Andhu Oram was taken into custody.
While the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, some neighbours of the accused have claimed that he was suspecting his wife of adultery for past few months and the step might have been a fallout of that.
