Gop: In yet another road mishap in the State, at least one person was killed and another sustained critical injuries after their bike was hit by a speeding truck at Banishree College Chhak under Khelore in Puri district today.
The deceased have been identified as Kailash Chandra Biswal. The injured is his son Brahmanand Biswal.
As per the report, the father-son duo was en-route to Gop in some work this morning when a speeding truck (Registration Number-OR 09 H 0477) which was heading in the same direction hit them from behind. While Kailash’s head got crushed under the wheels of the truck, Brahmanand turned critical after falling off the bike.
Irate locals staged a road blockaded at the site protesting crash and lifted it after police arrived at the spot and seized the truck.
The injured has been admitted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.
