Keonjhar: A man was killed and his nephew sustained critical injuries after a bike they were travelling by was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Kanjhari village under Ghatagaon police limits here on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Mangulu Behera. The injured nephew is Papu Behera.
As per the report, the victim duo identified as residents of Basantpur village under Pandpada police limits were en-route to Kanjhiri when the mishap took place in the morning. The driver of a four-wheeler which was travelling in the opposite direction lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting their motorcycle from the front.
While Mangulu died on the spot after slipping off the bike, Papu bled profusely on the spot and was rushed to Keonjhar DHH in critical condition by some bystanders later.
Police have seized the mangled bike and registered a case in connection with the incident.
