Keonjhar: At least one person was killed and another sustained critical injury after a car carrying them overturned near Sanajiuli village under Pandapada police limits in Keonjhar district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ratnakar Sahu of Jamajudi village under Harichandanpur block of the same district.
Ratnakar had been to Keonjhar town in some work along with his nephew Ayushman yesterday morning and was returning home late in the night when the crash took place. He lost control over the wheels of the car bearing registration number-OD 02X 5920 causing it to overturn into a farmland.
While Ratnakar was killed after remaining trapped inside the mangled car, Ayushman was rushed to Harichandanpur Community Health Centre (CHC) in an ambulance by local police later in the night.
Police have sent the body of the deceased for autopsy of late and seized the mangled vehicle.
