Man killed due to lightning in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: A man was killed due to lightning at Neduali village under Chandbali block of the district yesterday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sada Yadab.

According to reports, there was a heavy rain accompanied with gusty wind in the area when Yadab was working in a pond which was used for prawn farming. All of a sudden lightning struck him causing his death on the spot.

Family members of the deceased and owner of the prawn farm rushed to the spot to inquire as he did not return home till late night. He was wheeled into Chandbali Community Health Centre where doctors, who attended declared him brought dead.

The local police has initiated an investigation into the matter while the body of the deceased has been kept in the hospital for postmortem.
