Man Killed As Part Of JCB Machine Falls On Him In Ganjam District

Bhanjanagar: In a freak mishap, a man lost his life after a part of a JCB crane machine fell on him while he was standing on the verandah of his house. The victim got crushed under the heavy bucket of the JCB machine.

The heart-wrenching incident has been reported from Pangidi village under Buguda police limits in Ganjam district of Odisha. The deceased has been identified as Subash Dora of the village.

According to reports, a JCB machine was engaged in digging roadside for the pipes for supply of drinking water in the Pangidi village. Unfortunately, a part of the JCB got detached from the machine and fell on Subash who was standing on his house verandah, critically injuring him.

Locals rushed him to Buguda community health centre (CHC) immediately. However, the doctors there declared him ‘brought dead’ upon arrival in the CHC.

The incident sparked outrage in the village as locals blamed the negligence of the JCB machine operators for the death of Subash. They have complained that the JCB machine had been used without inspection of its fitness documents. Buguda police registered a case and launched a probe in this connection.
