Kandhamal: A man was injured in beer attack in Khetapaju village under Phulnabi block today. The injured has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
The victim identified as Dijabar Mallik had been to the forest with two others to collect firewood when the incident took place.
“The bear caught hold of his leg while both of us managed to run away. He later managed to climb a tree and the bear returned to the deep forest. We rescued him and rushed to the hospital,” said an eyewitness.
Doctors treating Mallik said that he has sustained multiple injuries on his leg and is currently under observation.
